Councillor Jean Brazil

Jean has been an active member of the Ryecroft Hall Community Association for 11 years, has chaired Public Voice on Policing meetings and is also a Homewatch co-ordinator.

 Jean has recently, at the 2008 local elections, been elected as your newest local councillor. Jean will continue to work with the rest of the Labour Team in Audenshaw to deliver the best service.

 

 

Councillor Wendy Brelsford

Wendy Brelsford your Labour Councillor in Audenshaw. At the 2007 election, residents of Audenshaw voted to kick out the Lib Dem councillor, in favour Wendy who works hard all year round for her fellow residents.

Wendy is an Audenshaw resident and cares about the town. She is also a Justice of the Peace, a local Homewatch co-ordinator and a fierce campaigner for cleaner and safer streets.

Wendy continues to work hard campaigning for the residents of Audenshaw on a range of issues.

 

 

Councillor Colin White

Councillor Colin White is your Labour councillor for Audenshaw.

Colin White, unlike other Audenshaw councillors, lives in the area. He has been working hard in the area for many years. He campaigned to stop the closure of the Library; backed residents on planning applications and currently holds surgeries with residents all over Audenshaw.

What has Labour done in Denton and Reddish so far?
  • Labour is working hard for local communities, delivering more jobs, safer streets and high quality public services available to all. Britain has the lowest mortgage rates for 40 years, the lowest inflation for 40 years and the lowest unemployment since the 1970s.
  • Since Labour came to office in 1997, waiting lists are down, investment is up, and there are 2,500 more nurses and 1,073 more doctors caring for patients in Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authority.
  • Since 1997, standards in our schools have risen across the board and there are now 180 more teachers helping children in Tameside Local Education Authority.
  • Our streets are safer, crime is down and there are now 1,161 more police officers fighting crime in Greater Manchester Police Force than in 1997.
  • Unemployment is down by 51 per cent in Denton & Reddish and around 1,770 people have got jobs thanks to Labour's New Deal in Denton & Reddish since 1997.
  • In Denton & Reddish, the winter fuel allowance warmed the homes of 17,645 pensioners in February 2004 and Labour is helping all pensioners to enjoy a decent and secure retirement. 4,919 pensioner households in Denton & Reddish are now benefiting from Pension Credit, with a local average award of £38.93 a week.
  • In 1997 there was no child care guarantee for parents. Now 4,800 three and four year olds have taken up one of the free part-time nursery education places available in Tameside Local Education Authority.
